Much Belated Award Acceptance

I am oh so very behind! I'm sorry my bloggy friends, please do not think that I have forgotten about you, or that I do not appreciate your love! You mean the world to me!

I have been utterly remiss in acknowledging some bloggy love . . . So, please, please visit these ladies!

Some time ago (on the same day!), I received comments informing me of awards from both Jan and Barb.

Jan graciously presented me with this Kreative Blogger Award, and along with it I am supposed to share 6 things that make me happy, so here goes:

1, My hubby :)
2. Spending time with family and friends
3. Traveling
4. Holiday food and decorations
5. Catching up with old friends
6. Children's laughter

I pass this AWARD onto:

Amy, at Photography by Amy Kay and My Life is Organized CHAOS!!
Tara, at Family Traditions . . . One Story at a Time
Melissa, at A Little Loveliness
Lisa, at Stop and Smell the Choloates
Nikki, at Project: Domestic Bliss
Alex, at My Quill and Pen

And Barb gifted me with the Perfect Friendship Blend Award.

This award comes with a questionnaire:

1. Do you have the same friends since childhood? I have lost touch with some of my friends, but since my parents still live in Colorado, they keep me updated on their lives, and the Internet is a fabulous way to keep in touch with many of my childhood friends.

2. What do you value most about your friends? I value friends who are honest and open and available to listen and talk or just do nothing but spend time together.

3. Are your friends your sounding boards? Absolutely! I have a very difficult time sorting things out in my head and treasure the opportunity to talk things out with my close friends.

4. What is your favorite activity to share with your friends? I love just being with people. But anything creative - scrapbooking, crocheting, quilting, craft projects - is always more fun with a friend! I also adore eating - whole meals or just a cup of tea, at home our out to a restaurant - makes for special bonding times :)

I consider all of you to be my very dear friends, but per the rules I would like to share this award with 4 of my special friends:

Alex, at My Quill & Pen
Sarah, at Burgeon
Sarah Mae, at Like a Warm Cup of Coffee
Anna Mae, atWhispers

Be sure to visit these ladies and give them lots of bloggy love :)

Thanks for reading!

Awards!??!?!!!

Oh. My. Word.

I am so overwhelmed by bloggy love right now!

Our list of ~My Husband Rocks!~ Friday participants grew a TON this week! (Can you believe how long it is?!!?! I am floored!)

And, I have received FOUR new blog awards! I started this little blog less than a month ago thinking that my family members and maybe some close friends would read it to kep up with our "adventures," and give me the obligatory "hey, read your blog the other day . . ." every now and again. I have made so many fabulous friends and am daily encouraged by the shared laughs and ideas and hurts and triumphs of people all over the world brought together through the "magic" of the Internet. Yes, it can be a scary place at times, but I love this side of it, so thank you all, from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to visit my little corner and share your comment love :).

My sweet, sweet blog friend Alex absolutely made my day with this little baby:

Photobucket

Alex keeps up with three blogs, and she is one of the most kind, talented and driven people I "know."

I received the following award twice! Once from Amanda Jo and again from Kate. Both of these ladies join us for MHR, and their blogs are just fabulous every other day of the week, too! :)

Photobucket

This award has rules:

1. Please put the logo on your blog.
2. Add a link to the person who awarded you.
3. You must nominate 7 fellow bloggers for this award.
4. Add links to the recipients.
5. Leave a comment so the recipients know they have received an award.

It's always hard for me to select just a few blogs to distribute these awards. I read soooooo many blogs, and they're all so special, but I shall do my level best to select some of the tippy tops! :)

~ Fellow former Colorado Springsian Lee at New To This Farm Stuff
~ The ultra-talented Layla (who is also a crazy remodeler) at The Lettered Cottage
~ Sweet and beautiful Tanja over at On that note...
~ Rachel, my fabulous Aussie friend shares Rachel's Journal Pages
~ Very cute and amazingly wise Emily at chatting at the sky
~ Alex, who is so strong and wonderful to read writes My Quill and Pen
~ My brand new blog friend Jennifer who is Simply "Jenn"-sational

These are in no order of worthiness or my preference as they are all fantastic!

And last but not least, Alex gave me another award just yesterday:

Photobucket

Isn't it cute?!!?!

Crazy days! Busy weekends! Hope all is well with you and yours!

Thanks so much for reading!

Flood update, a tag, and an award!

Happy Saturday everyone!

Hope you all are enjoying your weekend! This morning's post is going to be busy, so hold onto your hats!

Quick update on the floods - our little town is now an island (well peninsula is more correct at the moment I suppose). The only way to leave town is to head North as the highways to the East, West and South have all been closed because of flooding. They had crews sandbagging our water department (which is nearly under water) and a small town to the south of us all day yesterday, and the National Guard is here in force. I have taken many, many pictures, and will hopefully have an all-pic post up sometime this weekend.

The last we heard, they were planning on letting water out of the dam to the extent that it will raise the river by 2 feet every day for the next nine days, so we are likely to be without running water for awhile (there is no way that the sandbags at our water department will withstand a total of 18 feet more water - aren't you proud of my math skills). We continue to covet your prayers as we wait for the waters to recede! Thanks again to everyone who has been praying for us and all of the sweet comments you have left! Sorry to be a downer :)

~~~~~~~~~~~
I've been tagged by Donna over at An Enchanted Cottage!
Here are the rules for her game:
1. link back to the person who tagged you.
2. post these rules on your blog.
3. share six unimportant things about yourself.
4. tag people at the end of your entry.
Six unimportant facts about myself:
  • I can touch my nose with my toes
  • I would eat honey plain if I didn't feel like such a pig when I did so
  • My family makes fun of the way I pronounce the words "green" and "cotton"
  • I have a calendar on my office wall that is taller than I am
  • I usually walk on my tippy toes (an apparent side affect of my undying love for high heels?)
  • One of my shoulders is higher than the other, and the same is true, but opposite for my hips (did that make sense?)
TAG!
I tag Sarah, Barb, Ashley, and Chelsea!
~~~~~~~~~~

And I am honored to have received an award from Sarah Mae at Like a warm cup of coffee!

This award is "dedicated to many who nourish and enrich the spirit and creativity. They see dedication, creativity, camaraderie, joy and above all, ART, much art. I wish that this prize is entertaining to all those bloggers and to bloggers who day by day share this space and enrich it a little more each day." ~Arte Y Pico

Thank you so much Sarah Mae! I am deeply touched that you would present me with this honor :)

I would in turn like to present the award to the following people:

These women make me laugh, and cry (sometimes in the same post). They are beautiful, talented, and loads of fun! Thank you ladies for brightening my days :)

The rules for this award are as follows:

1. You need to choose 5 blogs you consider deserving of this award for their creativity,design, interesting material, and contribution to the blogging community regardless of the language.

2. Each award has to have the name of the author and a link to his/her blog to be visited by everyone.

3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that presented him/her with the award. I know it says this is a rule but I also know that not everyone likes to do this. I won't be hurt if you don't.

4. The award winner and the one who has given the award have to show the Arte Y Pico blog so everyone will know the origin of this award.

5. To show these rules.

That's all for now! Thanks for reading this insanely long post! :)

Thank you Barb!

I am honored and humbled to say that Barb from The French Elements gave me the Arte y Pico award! Thank you very much!

I have discovered so many fabulous blogs in the very short time that I have been blogging (as evidenced by my ever-lengthening blogroll, lol!), that this was a very difficult decision; however I decided to highlight the following 5:

Thank you ladies, you are all so lovely and talented!
