I found this quote today, and was struck by how much it describes Austin's philosophy on life. It literally fits him to a "t." This is a part of him that I had a difficult time relating to and still struggle with from time to time because the concept in and of itself was so very foreign to me.
Austin is a brilliant, wonderful, passionate man, who has the ability to process circumstances and situations so quickly it boggles the mind. As such, he is able to think through the ramifications of any action in a split second before making any decision to act or react. Therefore, every thought, word, and action is thought out to the nth degree before it is ever witnessed by anyone else - every purchase, every errand, every moment is run through a gigantic filter and put through a "pro and con" scenario - and all of this happens in the blink of an eye.
I'm not sure that this is something that will make sense to those of you who have never met Austin in person, but it is absolutely incredible to me. I often fall into a pattern simply reacting to situations rather than thinking things through as well as I probably should, and I love that one of the many up-sides of being married to my wonderful husband is that who he is and the way he relates to his circumstances challenges me to be a better person in this way. He challenges me to be a better person in a lot of ways, but this is one that has really stood out to me in the last couple of weeks.
I <3 him a lot!

Austin sounds great (he sounds a lot like my husband). Too bad we don't live near enough for them to meet. Also, thanks for starting MHRF. So often I hear other women (and men) putting their spouses down. It is so refreshing hearing others edify their spouses.
ReplyDeleteThe more I read about you and Austin, the more I know y'all and Sound Man and I would be friends IRL! Comin' to Memphis anytime soon? : )
ReplyDeleteMy husband has a bit of the same thing going for him, it is as if he will know the out come to what ever decision is made...I'm glad I have him to be my check and balance.
