LetsGoGreen.biz is one of those companies! I first heard about LetsGoGreen.biz through a blog giveaway! The rules of the giveaway prompted those who entered to visit the LetsGoGreen.biz website, then come back and comment about his or her favorite product. I was very impressed with the scope and selection of their products. Being kind of a green "newbie" there were many products that I had never even contemplated. At the time of my first visit I had been reading about plastic grocery bags and how one plastic grocery bag can take 1000 years to decompose! Yuck! That same afternoon while I was emptying the kitchen trash I thought to myself, "Self, if a plastic grocery bag takes 1000 years to decompose, how long does it take these plastic trash bags?" Then, low and behold, Eco-safe Degradeable Garbage Bags! Where have you been all my life! If you haven't taken the time to browse their website, please do. Not only do they have a product to green-ify nearly every aspect of your life, most of the products don't cost any more than their non-Eco-friendly counterparts and many cost less!
The following video is a newscast in which CEO, Kyle Jodice talks about some of the products you will find on their website, and explains why he started the business in the first place:
Well, that's about it for me, have a great Thursday everybody!
Wait, just a minute . . . .
I feel like I'm forgetting something . . .
What was it . . .
Oh, that's right! I promised y'all a giveaway, didn't I? - Silly me, it's even in the title!
After the giveaway that introduced me to LetsGoGreen.biz, Kyle contacted me to see if I would be interested in hosting a similar giveaway on my blog! I was flattered, and accepted right away! A few days later, I came home to work, and this was on my porch:
Inside, I found this:
And I immediately went to work attacking this:
I am thoroughly impressed with this detergent! Laundry detergent is one of those things that I don't spend a lot of time thinking about. Mostly because if I can avoid laundry or anything related to laundry, I am a much happier camper; however, this detergent warrants a closer inspection. The first thing I noticed about this was the packaging, it seems like a very small bottle to do the self-proclaimed 64 loads, but as I was reading the directions I learned that it takes only one ounce per load for a standard machine and about half that for a HE front-loader. So, for my purposes, I poured enough detergent into the cap to cover the bottom, and tossed it in. At this rate, one bottle will do WAY more than 64 loads!
The next feature that drew my attention was the scent. Now, I know you're thinking, "Katy, you crazy girl, the website clearly says that this detergent is fragrence free." And you would be right! But I'm telling you it has a very distinct scent, and I honestly wasn't sure that I liked it at first. Initially, it kind of made me think of Pine-Sol! But our clothes came out smelling sooo wonderful! The very clean scent of the woods after the rain! And I love it!
And most importantly it works! I mean, it really, really works well! Austin's work shirts are white - I'm not exactly sure what the thought process behind this was, but that's the uniform, so we go with it. But he's a hard working man and he gets dirty, and his work shirts reflect that, as you would expect. Using this detergent, they came out snowy white, and I didn't even use bleach (which I usually do)!
So, you think you'd like to try some detergent for FREE! Just to sweeten the deal, LetsGoGreen.biz is going to send our lucky winner one bottle of the Concentrated Laundry Detergent and one bottle of the Concentrated Fabric Softener! (That's a $24+shipping value!)

oooh...I think I'm first! lol I love all of the products but I think the picnic supplies are my favorite! This is one area that creates a ton of waste. We always carry our own real plates, silverware, etc. to picnics we attend. It makes more work but assuages my guilt over the amount of garbage one picnic creates. It;s awesome to see biodegradable options are available at such reasonable prices! Hope you're having a great day!

I completely love the All purpose cleaner because that is something I go to all day long over and over and so it's a logical step for me to go green with it instead of spraying chemicals all over the place multiple times each day. Why didn't I think of it before? Thank you.doot65 at comcast dot net

ReplyDeleteOne of the simplest things I've learned to conserve water is to fix those drippy faucets and running toilets. I can't even tell you how much water is wasted that way and I have past water bills to prove it. I've learned my lesson the hard way. Conserving water can be easy if you pay attention.

ReplyDeleteThanks for turning us on to this site; I have been trying to get a good collection of sites that sell eco-friendly products so I can blog about them.
ReplyDeleteThe products that most interest me at this time from Let's Go Green are the BPA-free bottles. I've gotten rid of all my water bottles and need new ones! These are safe and look easy to use.
I've also added you to my blogroll! Stop by and think about participating in my beach party next week!
Eco-Tip:
ReplyDeleteDon't go throwing things out just because they aren't eco-friendly! Wash and re-use items such as plastic forks, deli bags & containers, and tinfoil. My mother makes amazing grilled potatoes in tinfoil and washes and re-uses the tin. She's been doing this my whole life, to save money. Her record is 6 uses out of 1 piece! When you are using plastic flatware, it's usually because of a large crowd, not a desire to do less work. So set up a station next to the trash for recycleables as well as plastic flatware. Summer camps have always done this, you just need to train your guests.
I subscribed to your feed. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna have to say the Eco-friendly Doggie Bags! I walked my dog twice a day at least and every time I use a baggie (albeit recycled, since I use the baggies our newspaper is delivered in but it's not degradable!) I need some of these!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog today from another blog and I like it so far. So I just subscribed in reader. I hope that gives me a good chance at your fun giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love the Lo-Flo hose nozzles!
ReplyDeleteYea another giveaway! I already use eco friendly things and have made my son's cub scout pack go eco with recycling water bottles/cans, etc. I love canvas totes and will order one from Lets go green, also will get their paper sampler.
ReplyDeleteI have you on my blog roll and will blog about this giveaway also! I also love the idea of an eco friendly all purpose cleaner. Catch ya later!
I would love to try the Dish Detergent. I do lots of dishes and think using a eco friendly item is the way to go. Thanks for the contest!
ReplyDeleteI really like the LED night lights. We have several night lights around here, and I was not aware that these were made. I need to get my hands on some. :)
ReplyDeleteI would also like to say that we have replaced every light bulb in our 2 story house, including our basement with CFL bulbs and we have saved around $25-30 a month on our electric bill.
ReplyDeleteThese are very well worth it.
Here is a site to visit to learn how to recycle them.
http://www.epa.gov/bulbrecycling/
DO NOT throw your CFL bulbs out.
I like the Low Flow 2.25 GPM Rainfall Showerhead

We like the rainfall shower heads and we were able to find one on this site. Thanks
I already follow you on Twitter and I'm going to go over and subscibe. I don't have a blog so I guess that makes me good for three. Thanks
ReplyDeleteOh wait I can do a tip also. We put our tv's, audio & video equipment on power strips and turn them off when we are not using them, and also unplugged anything we don't use on a regular bases and our electric bill dropped $30.00 in a month wow, was we surpised.
ReplyDeleteThis detergent sounds like a win/win...if only it could do the laundry itself! Living in CA, conserving electricity is a big deal, so we run our appliances (like washig machines and dishwashers) after 7 PM, when less power is being used.
ReplyDeleteOh my - what a great selection they have! That all-purpose cleaner looks awesome - I'm for any product that is multi-purpose!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting a great giveaway - coming here via SITS!
Oooh, and my favorite "go green" tip these days is I have resurrected my bike with the kiddo trailer on the back! We bike everywhere - the store, to visit friends - I can ride up to about 40 minutes before we start in on the whining, and I live in a fairly small town, so we get a good dose of riding in - no gas burned and great exercise for me!
ReplyDeleteAnnnnnnnd...I'm adding you to my feedreader at bloglines!
ReplyDeleteNice that's awesome, I'll be back a bit later.
ReplyDeleteI would love the Green Home Starter Kit, since then it would give me everything I needed to get going being green in my home! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHey, Katy Lin,
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting the giveaway. I really liked the
-the pink BPA-free water bottle
-the all purpose cleaner
-the laundry detergent
I also subscribed to you and
I am now following you on Twitter.
Fun!!!!
I love a good all purpose cleaner!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the toilet paper. We use so much in our house that to go "green" in this area would definately impact the Earth!
ReplyDeleteJust added you to my blogroll...thanks!
ReplyDeleteI like the pink better bottle.
ReplyDeleteYou can use grey water to water plants, etc. There is a great system you can set up to catch rain water!
