This week while we were eating supper, Austin looked up at our unity sand and got a funny look on his face. When I asked him what was up, he chuckled a little and said "I just thought of something for the blog." Which made me smile. He said, "It's really corny, but it's kind of cute. Every anniversary, we could put our hands over the top of our sand container and shake it one time. That way it symbolizes how every year we become more and more united." I think it's adorable. Here's what our sand looks like now:

  15. Look at you in your wedding dress! You look amazing! So tiny and beautiful and beaming with joy. I have never heard of the concept of unity sand, so that idea alone is precious. And the idea to shake it once each year takes it to a new level. Congratulations on the upcoming anniversary!

  22. I love your "My Husband Rocks" idea. I posted my first tonight and I look forward to posting many more. It is so nice to see other women taking part in sharing the wonderful things their husbands do for them, rather than taking part in the "husband bashing" that has become the accepted norm nowadays.

  30. Hi Katy, I just wanted to drop by & say that I really love the idea of "my husband rocks" Fridays :] I read your original post about the idea and I have to agree -- society as a whole portrays marriage as sort of a "necessary evil". Now I'll admit, when people find out we've been HAPPILY married for two years, they STILL call us "newlyweds" and say "don't worry, it'll fade". WHAT?! I think they're crazy... (except for our mothers, one of which cried when my husband & I didn't snuggle on the couch at a family function because she thought we were going to "break up"!)

  31. I'm visiting your site through BATW. You've sure got a great thing going with the MHRF...I may have to join.
