This week while we were eating supper, Austin looked up at our unity sand and got a funny look on his face. When I asked him what was up, he chuckled a little and said "I just thought of something for the blog." Which made me smile. He said, "It's really corny, but it's kind of cute. Every anniversary, we could put our hands over the top of our sand container and shake it one time. That way it symbolizes how every year we become more and more united." I think it's adorable. Here's what our sand looks like now:

ReplyDeletePlease add me! I've been doing this for 6 weeks straight now, and publicly professing my love and respect for my hubby helps ME! And I know it is blessing-US! {I love your sand, I love your husband's idea of sharing your love with us all) Thank you for this idea!

What a beautiful symbol! It's so sweet that your husband thinks of things for the blog, mine just shakes his head.
ReplyDeleteHoly shmolly...you were a BEAUTIFUL bride!!! :) Many blessings to you and your hubby.
ReplyDelete*hugs*
That's such a neat idea (shaking the unity sand). And really sweet that he thought of it too :o)
ReplyDeleteI love your "My Husband Rocks" idea. I posted my first tonight and I look forward to posting many more. It is so nice to see other women taking part in sharing the wonderful things their husbands do for them, rather than taking part in the "husband bashing" that has become the accepted norm nowadays.

I have no idea what 'unity sand' is... but I've got the general idea from your post that it symbolizes unity... gee I'm clever aren't I ... :) he is so romantic!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a good Saturday. :)
ReplyDeleteI have never seen unity sand, but I love the idea and Austin's suggestion. Corny can be so sweet can't it?
ReplyDeleteHello Katy-Lin. Thinking of you today. Hope you have a good week. :)
ReplyDeleteComing from BATW and Louisiana to say hi! Loved you pictures. You Blog is so cute.
ReplyDeleteHi I am coming by from BATW and wanted to say Hi from Hungary. I am going to look into your MHR Friday... fun idea!
ReplyDeleteCool fellow and cool idea:)
ReplyDeleteVisiting from BATW. I must say that your blog, hubbie, wedding pictures...Adorable!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to honor your husband and marriage!
Your title makes me hum the old Steven Curtis Chapman song!
Hi from BATW in Louisiana!
ReplyDeleteHi Katy, I just wanted to drop by & say that I really love the idea of "my husband rocks" Fridays :] I read your original post about the idea and I have to agree -- society as a whole portrays marriage as sort of a "necessary evil". Now I'll admit, when people find out we've been HAPPILY married for two years, they STILL call us "newlyweds" and say "don't worry, it'll fade". WHAT?! I think they're crazy... (except for our mothers, one of which cried when my husband & I didn't snuggle on the couch at a family function because she thought we were going to "break up"!)
ReplyDeleteI'm visiting your site through BATW. You've sure got a great thing going with the MHRF...I may have to join.
