~ My Husband Rocks! ~ conviction

Click here to read about why I started MHR Fridays!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My husband rocks! Seriously! He is truly incredible.
One of the things that I love the most about Austin is that he is a man of very strong convictions. This is a pretty broad statement, but it is a very large part of who he is. It affects the way that he relates to people, the way he talks,
When he worked for the cable company, he was the only guy who never swore, or told dirty jokes, or made inappropriate comments about women, and he paid a pretty heavy price for being so different. He put up with some pretty intense ridicule from his co-workers, and it even ended up with him being wrongfully terminated from the company. Because God takes such wonderful care of us and because Austin is such a driven individual, he was out of work for less than one day before he had a new job at a better company, but it was a pretty difficult situation none the less.
Now I'm not saying that he's perfect, and he would never claim to have it all together. However, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he tries every day to be a better version of himself than he was the day before. It's pretty inspiring. I can't honestly say that I make that kind of a conscious effort, but he makes me want to be better, and I think that is so important :)
Oh, and he's pretty hot, too :)
  3. I've been thinking a lot lately about how important it is to be faithful to God and to who He wants us to be regardless of what it looks like we might lose or suffer. This topic just keeps coming up in conversations and the the things I'm reading. God is always faithful to reward His followers, just as he did your sweet hubby with a new, better job. Thanks for sharing, Katy Lin. Not only does your husband rock but you do too!
    Have a great weekend!
  4. Lovely thoughts, KatyLin. And don't drive yourself nuts on the fist day of NaNiWriMo ~ as a long-time professional writer, I want you to know that word counts are goals, and not even the most important goals. Many days I do all my writing inside my head, sometimes for weeks at a time. But when I finally sit down at the keyboard, it all seems to flow through my fingers and onto the screen with very little effort. Mostly, my job is to get out of the way and let the story tell itself, or the article write itself.
    Peace be with you & Austin during your big November project!
  5. My husband lost a job for a similar situation...and God gave him one SO much better! He's been there 5 years and LOVES it. He was pretty miserable when he was at the other job.
    Isn't it so wonderful to have husbands who truly stand up for their beliefs?
  11. I'm playing and emailed you my address last night. Love how you Glorify your hubby and all he does. You are blessed to have one another.
  12. A gentleman is a rare find in this day and age! Losing that job sounds like it was a blessing in disguise--who needs that aggravation?
    I don't get people who knock the opposite sex. I hate male-bashing jokes and feel very uncomfortable when anyone tells one. (The "I'm with Stupid" t-shirts make me gag.) Frankly, both guys and gals who do that kind of thing are unbelievably immature and probably lack self-confidence!
    I'm going to post my 'rock' post now...
  13. You have a wonderful hubby! He is a hottie too! I love my Dude - I'm not feeling well today so I think I'll hold off on posting but I will next week when I'm feeling better! I loved reading yours though. You are awesome!
    I'm glad he was able to find a better job quickly. Some people are really awful - I'd be proud of him too for not caving under pressure!
  14. I agree convictions are important and more importantly, sticking to them. Your husband is a great role model for this! Great post as always! I've posted on my site as well. I'm off to read as many other MHR write-ups as I possibly can today! :)
    Happy Halloween!!!
  17. A man with conviction is worth his weight in gold. God was obviously honoring that conviction when he provided another job so quickly!
    I almost forgot, but I just posted. This is really such an excellent meme! Thanks again, and may God continue to bless your marriage!
    Grace and Peace,
  21. About NaNo:
    Yeah, I'd better give some thought to *quick* meals! But then again, I always want to make quick meals LOL! Hope your NaNo's going well. :)
    Did you make an outline (plot line), or are you writing it without any previous notes?
